Throughout our lives, each and every one of us makes sacrifices to help our friends, family and neighbours. By sacrificing what we have to help those in need, we offer crucial solidarity and hope. Right now, a staggering 1 in 9 people worldwide are battling chronic hunger. However, there is hope: by giving Qurbani, you can feed a family in need this Eid. Allah tells us in the Holy Qur’an:

“So turn in prayer towards your Lord and sacrifice.” (108:2)

Recognizing the importance of Qurban for Muslims, INSAN continues its seasonal/annual program by launching the ‘Qurbani/Udhiya 2020’ campaign to allow the Muslims to practice the worship.

The aim of ‘Qurbani/Udhiya 2020’ is to assist vulnerable groups in Malaysia and Yemen through the distribution of Qurbani meat. The distribution focuses on single mothers, orphans, senior citizens, poverty-stricken, disabled persons, patients with chronic diseases, and the refugees.

INSAN’s Qurbani program has benefited over 2,025 beneficiaries in Malaysia, costing RM29,587.50 in 2019.

This year, INSAN targets 1,000 Qurban participations and the qurbani meat will benefit over 5,000 individuals.

Prices for Qurbani part (one portion) vary from one country to another, in Malaysia one qurbani part is priced at RM750 and in Yemen, one portion would cost RM1,000.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “I was commanded to do Qurban and it is a sunnah for you.” [Narrated by at-Tirmidzi]
