Relief Project - Disaster Areas Jan 21
Floods in Malaysia are regular natural disasters in Malaysia, which happen nearly every year especially during the monsoon season. The east coast of peninsular Malaysia is the most prone to flooding especially during the northeast monsoon season from October to March.
Thank you to all our donors, we have met our fundraising goal.
Malaysian villagers were evacuated in an excavator while others swam through deep waters on Wednesday (Jan 6) as the number forced from their homes by floods rose to more than 28,000 with at least four dead.
More than 48,000 people in six Malaysian states were sheltering in 400 relief centers on Friday (Jan 8) to escape rising floodwaters as monsoon rain continued to lash parts of the country.
Flooding hits, the country’s east coast during the rainy season annually and regularly results in mass evacuations, but people in some areas say this year are the worst in decades.
